Ok, it has been awhile since I've posted. Since the last time a lot has happened; we have been to South Dakota and had a wonderful time. South Dakota was beautiful! We have also been to Park City with the family for the 4th of July, again a great time.
Since the South Dakota trip we have been looking for a V8. Our Nissan Pathfinder only has a V6 and it was a little difficult and slow going at times on vacation. We are looking specifically for a Chevrolet Tahoe. After an incredible amount of research, we have decided that it our best option.
We have not planned a lot of golf this season and we are planning to plan this morning but the weather looks a little threatening right now. We shall see.

Aah, just reading the paper.
It is an early morning for us. We were up before 8:00 a.m. Man, we love retirement!
With that said, I (Cindy) am working 10 hours a week for a small non-profit group, Utah Council on Conflict Resolution. It has been a difficult adjustment for me but I've had great people to lean on and learn from of course, Myron, Denise and my Mother. Thank you.
Today we will continue to get ready for our trip to South Dakota. Yesterday, Myron fixed the stereo in the trailer. Guess what? There was a quarter in the speaker and the sound would not come in. Today, all better.
Last night we went out for dinner with Pattie, Terry and Ron. We went to La Frontera on 33rd South and 13th East. The food was excellent. After dinner, Pattie, Terry, Myron and I went to the dollar stores, fun was had by all. Myron put on birthday hats, threw balls over the shelves and hit Pattie in the head. I will not write what she had to say to Myron ^&)&^%.
Writing in this blog is fun. I'm not sure who it would be interesting to but we will continue.

June 2, 2011
This all began when Denise, Myron and I met for lunch one day at 11:00 a.m. at The Olive Garden. People were waiting in line. People were racing, limping to get to their favorite tables and out came the coupons! I am talking about the Eleven O'clock Lunch Bunch, the time for lunch when you have earned the right to lunch whenever you darn well feel like it or when the restaurant opens.
Based upon this fun, fun experience of lunching at 11:00 a.m. my daughter suggested that Myron and I begin writing a "retirement blog." Finally, at long last, we are blogging and feel years younger!
We wanted to begin this blog yesterday, June 1, 2011 but we were returning from our first retirement trip in our little travel trailer. Where should we begin? We did not know the road to Grand Junction CO. from Salt Lake City, UT. could be so long and expensive?
First stop, gas station after gas station. We knew we would not get good gas mileage in our little Nissan Pathfinder but did not know it would be that bad, 11 miles to the gallon, less than 8 miles to the gallon and so on. Thank goodness there are a lot of gas stations between here and Grand Junction because we hit them all.
Second stop, Discount Tire, the tread blew off one of the trailer tires in Fruita Co. We had an angel looking over us on that one. Thank you angel.
Third stop, hotel room. Yes. we said we were towing a trailer BUT ran into a grumpy campground host who wanted to spray weeds around trailer site with Roundup and could not wait until we left. We were concerned about how this might affect Oscar, our 120 lb. Golden Doodler. Yes. He is our traveling companion and yes, we left the campsite and headed for the hotel.
Fourth stop, Miller Trailer Sales in Spanish Fork, Utah on the way home. The electrical cord fell away from the Pathfinder and we left bits and pieces of the cord and "pigtail" along I-70. We traveled home without brake lights and trailer brakes! But, again we had angels, my Mom and Ross were with us and stayed behind us the whole trip. They were towing a truck on a low boy (trailer). We must have all been a site.
Truly, we had a wonderful trip in spite of everything. Our family in Grand Junction was wonderful and it was a treat being with Mom and Ross.
The purpose of this visit to Grand Junction was for Memorial Day to place flowers on the graves of family members who have passed. To all, we love and miss you. To Granny, a special thank you for being our angel. We love and miss you more than you will ever know.
p.s. The photo has nothing to do with this trip! It was just a nice one of both of us.
Until next time,
